Town Council
The Rockville Mayor/Council is both legislative and executive. The body is comprised of a “strong mayor” and four Council members, one of whom serves as the Mayor Pro Tem. Mayor/Council is responsible for setting and balancing an annual Town budget, ensuring that laws and ordinances are fairly complied with, operating an election every two years, and to direct and supervise the administration of all departments, offices, and agencies of the Town. The body has a public meeting on the third Monday of each month and may elect to hold special meetings after notice to the public.
A resolved duty of the Rockville Mayor/Council is to hold hearings and maintain a balance of residential interest and enjoyment with safety, conservation and preservation oriented principles.
Rockville has been blessed with the help of some great Town Clerks. These individuals attend all Mayor/Council meetings and record minutes, publish records and agendas, maintain treasury records, and archive and codify all official Town records.
