Church on Maybank will have a Farmers Market on Wednesday from 3-7 PM Island.
Mr. Holst attended the Johns Island Meeting – New light on Johns Island at Fenwick, when tripped
by a vehicle will stay on for 3 minutes. City is seeking representatives from Johns Island and James
Island for its commission. Upcoming development -next to Food Lion – 72 rental units. 721 lots by
“Harris Teeter” property 43 townhouses and 29 single family homes. On Maybank, past

gives 8 $1000 scholarships. Past applicants had a difficult time applying, reports so far this year
indicate that the process has gotten better.
    New business:
Budget due in July. Mayor and Clerk to work follow up.

Invoice for CDH – $1200 and $450 – repairs to Rockland, Grace Chapel and SIYC.
DRB Clerk fee owed.
SLRF – Covid Funds Reporting (funds have not been used) – Mayor has received notice that the Town may
have to prove that the funds were used for COVID related expenses, which the Town has none. Town may
need to return funds which is feasible as they were not used.
House on Grace Chapel – purchased by Buddy Morgan, plans include replacing the entire exterior envelope.
House is surprisingly sound. Back of home will need to completely be replaced. All plans will be approved by
County and the historic integrity will be maintained.
Henry Holst comments on his and Judy’s conversation discussing a possible community cookout at the end of
Maybank Hwy. Mayor noted that an encroachment permit would be required. Frank Thornhill offered his
yard. Judy Suggs suggests having it in the fall.
Old Business:
County to start on Rockland on Wednesday. Monthly road expense/focus can now switch to other areas in
need such as SIYC Rd. Truluck Construction is the contractor hired by the County, and has proposed that,
while they are here with the equipment and materials, they could work on SIYC Rd – They have provided
several estimates ranging form $15,000- $30,000. Mayor has requested a specific proposal for the first third
of SIYC Rd and/or the first and second third – quarter proceeding Yacht Club. Judy Suggs asks about area near
her driveway which Council believes will be addressed. Council may have to have emergency meeting to
approve additional work at Town expense. Mayor suggests that Council should take an informal poll of
property owner’s opinions on material and finish look of upcoming road repairs. Shell sand, the ideal
material, is extremely expensive.
Berkeley Electric – through Scott Bennett (resident), has agreed to bury the power lines for approximately
$10 per foot which should work out to be around $30,000 which is for labor and materials for boring.
Potentially some residents will need to pay to tie new lines into existing. Standard fee is $100 with BEC.
Additionally, may have to hire electrician for a tie in.
Vessel in peril on Bohicket Creek – Mayor has spoken to Coast Guard representative who has indicated that
the boat is in “ok” shape so they will not be able to help. They defer to the owner to make decisions and will
not even review the Town’s proposal. The owner has shut down meaningful dialogue with the Coast Guard.
Coast Guard will not allow the vessel to be towed as the owner lacks proper documentation. Owner has not
responded to Mayor’s attempt to contact him with offer to help.
Audit is complete.

Frank Thornhill motioned to adjourn at 7:33 Seconded by Mayor.
