Council swearing in ceremony is needed. Members must complete Statement of Economic Interest on the state ethics website prior to being sworn in.
Old Business:
Dead/low hanging limbs on Maybank- Contractor- Magdelena Hernandez to trim and haul away limbs not to exceed 8 inches from Marina Rd to the end of pavement at water. Estimate -$4500. Mayor to confirm with the County. Whit Smith notes that traffic control will be required. Mayor comments that a copy of the Contractor’s insurance will be needed.
Sanders Brothers has completed construction on Rockland and so far, reviews are good. There was not enough material to form a crown, however the slope allows for drainage. Mayor shared feedback from Frank Thornhill, who indicated that the edges were a little rough. CDH or Charleston green can follow up to smooth out and motor grade.
SIYC Rd will be addressed by CDH soon. Tammy Bazzle mentions that it does seem rougher than usual. Traffic from deliveries and the Yacht Club Christmas party are contributing factor to the state of SIYC Rd. In general, more functions than usual and the crowds are larger, so the road is constantly getting worn out. Council to obtain quote for continuation of crown/addtional material as was done on other sections of the road.
The official government audit is no longer required, but it is recommended to continue an annual audit of some sort for transparency and the record. Bill Hancock, who has performed past audits may be able to address council regarding plan moving forward. Should be less expensive.
Mayor Motions to adjourn at 7:26, seconded by Tammy Bazzle.
