MAYOR / COUNCIL REPORTS:
Mayor comments that the posting board at the store is solely reserved for Town business noticing. Others have been advertising there.
John Hope – Code Enforcement Officer for the Town – has officially retired via letter written to the Town Council. Mayor notes that the Town is eternally grateful for Mr. Hope many years of service. Hs amazing mixture of code knowledge and civility has set a standard for the Town and will be sincerely missed.
Council to explore options of a fitting retirement gift. Henry Holst suggests a gift certificate.
Town to seek new code enforcement officer. Does not have to be Town resident as the position is a paid that of a paid employee.
Moment of silence in honor of Carrol Suggs, a long-time stalwart member of the Rockville community who will be missed.
Yearly audit upcoming. This will be the last year that this will be required. Saving of $6000 per year.

- WILPC: Henry Holst –News from Johns Island meeting: October 26 – New Jerusalem Church on Bears Bluff will host a Community Fall Festival with a car show, games, food, music and voting registration 11:00-3:00 PM.
Police report – 5 traffic stops on Wadmalaw and 39 patrol requests and 9 accidents. It was also reported at the meeting that the 17-overpass construction has been contracted to start early 2025.
Next meeting Nov. 12 – St. Johns Waterworks to attend to discuss future plans.
Old Business:
COVID funds reporting has still been a struggle as the online portal is not user friendly. Mayor has contacted MASC and Tim Scott’s office for compliance assistance. Mr. Scott’s representative has been unsuccessful with contacting the treasury office. The Town has not used the funds.
Boat on Bohicket Creek – Vessel Hazar – still on the bank posing an eminent threat to the sanctity of the waterfront. Coast Guard has depolluted thanks to the efforts of Nancy Mace’s office and their colleague Noah Longest.
Road status – same. Projected dry winter weather should help.
New Business:
Charleston Green Invoice $2500 for Rockland Ave repairs.
Mayor working on debt report for state. Town has ZERO debt.
Scheduling Order:
Decide on gratitude gift for retiring Town government/employee veterans.
