New Business:
A largely attended, recent party at Ambrose’s home resulted in questionably unsafe parking situation. Mayor received calls from concerned residents. The issue being that EMS might have been able to traverse the road, but definitely not a fire truck. The hosts did provide parking attendants, but they did not do a satisfactory job. Mayor to contact the Ambrose family to suggest the use of shuttle buses, golf carts and leased parking for future events at the location. Council members noted that there were more people in attendance than in the past.
Old Business:
Public seems to utilize the notice box at the store. It has been taken over by commercial folks posting for their businesses which overshadows the Town Agenda posting
Dead/low hanging limbs on Maybank- Henry Holst and Ed Lipfort have consulted a tree company who quoted less than $5000 to take care of all the trees from Town sign to the end of the Rd on Maybank Hwy. Technically DOT responsibility but they are not following up on requests from the Town to address the problem in any sort of timely matter. Mayor suggested to have tree expert attend Council Meeting to explain cost/procedure for cleaning up/trimming the trees.
Rockland to be re-graded by Sanders Bros., who have confirmed that the project is still on their schedule. Mayor to follow up.
Preservation Ordinance is still at Planning and under review. Once returned by Planning, Council will review again and then send to County and Town Attorney for their input.
Linton property issue still ongoing. Once Dr. Linton finalizes plan for drainage he will present to Town, who plans to allow him an easement to drain under the road. The Town feels that they are not responsible for draining of the entire yard, as the problem existed well before recent road repairs, but certainly does not want to make the problem worse and wishes to help in a reasonable manner.
CDH to address SIYC road
Frank Thornhill Motions to adjourn at 7:18, seconded by Tammy Bazzle.
Scheduling Order – Swear in Council after recent election.
